Newspaper deliveries to cease!

Newspaper deliveries courtesy the postman cease after 28 Mar, meaning the end of the Thursday Gazette and the  Saturday papers.

Perhaps we should draw up a rota?  Any suggestions?

Having done a bit of research into oil prices recently before ordering, a friend who lives about 10 miles away says that in her village, there is a buying co-operative, and by between them buying a tanker-ful (not sure how big the tanker!) they get a good reduction. It would take a little while for people to get to the point of needing more at the same time, but might this be something to consider? I also got the impression from one of the oil companies (which I did not use, but they politely followed up my interest) that they were open for treating...

Newspaper rota sounds a great idea, unless the reality is that only a few people need it, in which case maybe neighbours can get the paper for them on a regular basis.

This website is a marvel - congratulations Richard! - might the telephone box (if we are "buying" it) be a good place for non-internet users to be able to contribute to this grass-roots chatter? The new village hub - it's a bit small for a pub, but could have notices and ask for comments etc out of the rain.
