Parish Plan Update

First of all, thank you to all who attended the morning drop-in event in the Fleece on Saturday 16th January. This was well attended and lots of comments were made, on a wide range of topics.

Initial analysis suggests that people are generally happy with life in the Parish but believe that we will face some important issues in the years ahead.

The next step is to invite views from people and groups who have not commented so far.

Armed with this information, it will then be possible to begin the process of drafting a Parish Plan, which will eventually (by the end of 2010, we hope) be adopted as a guide to how we would all like to see our parish and its various communities in the future. The effort behind all this will be led by a small steering committee, made up of volunteers. Several volunteers have come  forward already but more assistance will be needed at later stages. For most people, the next sign of progress will be a questionnaire dropping on every door-mat in the parish but, if before that you would like to either comment or volunteer to help, please get in touch with the Parish Clerk, Heather Cooke, or any of the parish councillors.

Finally, you may remember seeing in last November’s Hillesley Happenings that the Parish Council had applied to Stroud D.C. for a grant towards the cost of preparing a parish plan – the application was successful.
