From Thursday 2nd to Sunday 6th June the nation will celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee. At a recent meeting, the following ideas were discussed for our celebrations here in Tresham. This is by no means comprehensive or final and other ideas are very much welcomed!
- Join the national network of beacon lighting on Thursday 2nd June
- Commemorative tree planting
- Street Party in the road by the lay-by on Sunday 5th June
- Old photos and memorabilia exhibition in Tresham Church

Commemorative Tree Planting
- Location – to be confirmed
- Tree species and availability – to be confirmed
- Commemoration plaque to accompany the tree
Street Party on Sunday 5th June
- Commence at 12pm after the monthly service at Tresham Church
- The road through the village will be closed to traffic between The Old Post Office and Little Rock Cottage from 9am to 6pm
- Bring your own picnic, chairs and tables
- Suggested games and activities:

- Well Hill treasure hunt
- Lucky dip
- Fancy dress (king & queen)
- Cake baking competition
- Welly wanging
- Slow bicycle race
- More ideas welcome, especially for the younger generation
- Music from 4pm to 6pm – Tresham Stranglers
Exhibition in Church
- Old photographs & memorabilia
- All contributions welcomed
