Beat the Bounds and Tea 2

Posted on July 24th, by Editor in Social Gatherings. 1 Comment

On Saturday, 20 July, 23 villagers, family and friends Beat the Bounds of Tresham, the ancient tradition of marking out a village’s boundary.  Five neighbouring landowners kindly gave permission for the occasion to walk off footpaths in order to follow the Ward boundary as closely as possible.  With coffee, photo and lunch breaks it took nearly five hours to walk the eight miles so that walkers and other folk were well-rewarded with tea and delicious cake generously provided by Rosie and family out of the kindness of their heart.  It had been their idea of a Travelling Tea Room that sparked the whole event and we raised a fantastic £288.50 in donations for the Church.

  1. Huge thank you to Richard and Simon for all the hard work to make this happen, for the great company on the walk and to the landowners for letting it happen. Next year? Hopefully.
