There was a good turn-out for the Spring Clean with several bags of rubbish being removed from the lane either side of the village.  The steps down Well Hill were weeded, most of the Hill raked to promote growth of wild flowers, and the area round the spring was cleared – the plan is to create a small pond half way down the stream (well, more of a trickle really).  As previously reported, the Cotswold Wardens gave us a head start but our efforts on Saturday brought it right up to scratch; it really is an area that villagers and visitors can enjoy – what an achievement.

We are waiting for Glos CC to put a drain in at the top of the track to stop the water carving it up.  Once that is done (impossible to get a date from them) the track surface will be improved, probably with a top dressing of stone.
