Entertainment for the Family
Hello Everyone
I’ve been very impressed with the way people in the village have rallied round with offers of help during this tricky time. I’d like to contribute but as I’m over 70 my options are somewhat limited. I’ve come up with the following offer.
I volunteer at a day centre for adults with learning disabilities on a Tuesday morning. Each week we have a drama session and I write a short play for them which they perform. These plays are based on an historical event that happened on that day or during that week. We then discuss the actual event. I try to make the plays slightly humorous and they have become quite popular. Although they’re not likely to win an Olivier award, I wondered whether the plays would be useful for anyone with children who is running out of ways to keep them occupied. They might also appeal to a wider audience as my 92-year-old friend always enjoys listening to them.
