Syrian Refugees – chests of drawers and wardrobes needed

Posted on December 14th, by Editor in Community. 1 Comment

Further to my post a fortnight or so ago at least one villager has responded with a donation of furniture.  This to be collected next Monday, 21 December.  Stroud District Furniture Bank have said that they “are most short of chests of drawers and wardrobes” and ask that if anyone has either of these items available to let jo@strouddistrictfurniturebank.org.uk know.

Francesca and I visited GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) in Barton Street, Gloucester, last week to gain a better understanding of the work they do.  You may recall that the Harvest service collection was donated to them and villagers have also made private donations.  We were impressed with the hard work taking place in unglamorous, small and cramped office space.
