We were taken by family staying over Christmas to The Royal Oak at Leighterton – great meal for eight of us of three generations on NYE, and I really enjoyed the Badminton venison steak with red cabbage. Very good flavour of everything and tender meat, with a suitably rural approach to plating out. Strongly recommend (be sure you have steak knife for the cabbage!).
